What families are saying

Testimonials

Real reviews from homeschool families who've worked with Ready and Right Testing Services for testing and homeschool support services in Oregon and Washington.

“Our experience with Julie was great. She was punctual, attentive, and affordable. After our meeting, she followed up with additional information about a question I had asked. I couldn't recommend her more.”
— Sabrina Baker
“Julie has been apart of our family's school journey for seven years. We will continue our relationship with her due to the experience, knowledge, leadership, an insite she provides. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to start homeschooling, because she offers comfort and no judgement to a beginner. If you have been homeschooling for awhile she offers ideas, program options and encouragement, which we all need as a homeschooling community! Lastly, she has personal experience with being a teacher, virtual teacher, and a homeschool mother of multiple children, who are setting examples an accomplishing goals in real life! Thank you Julie, your light shines brightly!!”
— June Harris
“Julie is so great! We have been doing end of year evaluations with her for a few years and she makes it so easy and enjoyable for both me and my kids! My kids are never stressed when it's time for evaluations which I am so thankful for. We appreciate all her efforts so much. Would highly recommend Julie for evaluations.”
— Jolene Davids
“I had my evaluation yesterday with Julie and it was a pleasure! She is so kind and very informative. I was nervous this being my first evaluation. This is my first year homeschooling my son who is neurodivergent. I was nervous because our homeschooling days will look alot different than a neurotypical children especially when he gets older. After our evaluation I feel so much better. I hope Julie continues to do evaluations throughout the years my son is school aged because I'll definitely be going to her every year. She isn't just a teacher she's a homeschooling mom herself. Thank you Julie!”
— Tyra Long
“My family has used Julie's evaluation services for several years. She is professional and kind with my children. She remembers the individual growth and conversations from the very beginning. This has helped remove some of the anxiety surrounding the entire process. We will continue utilizing her skills for the remainder of our homeschool journey as long as we are all able! We would give her 10 stars if we could!!”

Meet Julie McConnell, your Oregon homeschool tester

Julie has been testing Oregon & Washington homeschoolers since 1996. She knows homeschooling from the inside, too: she taught her own children at home for nearly four decades, and now teaches her grandchildren.

Each spring she tests about 300 students, so she knows how to put a nervous child at ease. Her approach is patient, warm and unhurried. Children settle in, do their best work, and leave feeling capable rather than judged.

What you can count on

  • Qualified in both states. Julie is on the Oregon Department of Education's approved tester list and never tests students she's related to. She also tests Washington homeschoolers using state-approved tests.

  • Everything handled for you. Julie schedules, administers and scores the test, then walks you through the results.

  • A homeschool parent's perspective. She's glad to talk through what the results mean for next year, from curriculum choices to how to prepare.
